Tribe of Doris is proud to announce its forthcoming events in Bristol to celebrate the Olympics and launch its Big Dance 2012 programme; 7th -15th July. The Big Dance is a national initiative to celebrate dance as part of the cultural Olympia and to create opportunities that everyone can experience and participate in.

Doris started in 1991 with 75 people, on a wet weekend outside Bristol. Over the years the event evolved into a five day summer school based in Devon with over 40 workshops a day. It brought together peoples from across the world; touching thousands of lives in simple yet profound and inspiring ways.
The Tribe of Doris Intercultural School as we know it has now come to an end. As ever we pay homage to the drum, the songs, the dances and the ancestors who have allowed us to have this circle of learning and to play with all the lovely spirits and people that have graced our fields over the years. We would especially like to thank Margaret and Steve Lee; the farmers who have befriended our tribe.
The circle has no end and no beginning but is a magic space for creativity, may we always be within its embrace. The spirit of Doris works in mysterious ways and you may well feel her to tap you on the shoulder ready to change your life…
